As winter continues to settle in, I find myself starting to plan my warm-weather getaways. Typically, our family’s holidays are spent visiting all of our relatives in California, from San Francisco down to Los Angeles, and while it's definitely warmer than New York, it doesn’t quite fulfill my need for a true beach vacation. One of the things I wind up doing during the holidays is daydreaming about destinations not too far away, but still places that can transport us to another world. I’m considering Jamaica, Eastern parts of Mexico, the Bahamas, Turks and Caicos…
I bought myself these really fun jelly flip flops in the Fall, and have been patiently waiting to get some wear out of them. And then that gets me thinking about what other fun resort pieces to pack alongside my dream sandals. Here are a few things I either own, or am considering purchasing, as these items all fit seamlessly into my existing wardrobe but make me excited to get on a plane to somewhere HOT.
I love to think about utilizing bathing suits as a base layer to any vacation look. This seersucker one-piece by Vitamin A is so good - it’s a great tank top for the day, back to a pair of shorts, or looks good in the evening as a bodysuit. I love the thin straps and the fabric really holds you in - it is a flattering bathing suit. I love this sheer maxi dress too, it’s such a great piece that can work a few different ways depending on how you style it. I’ve found that adding a bit of color to my cheeks makes me feel so much prettier, and the Ilia multistick is a godsend. I found these perfect St. Agni tortoise sunnies and think they work well with anything - they are fun for a beach vacation, but work just as well in the city. And the flip flops - they are beautiful. I love the material, and the sleek shape. They come in a nice waterproof pouch, which I will be packing with me for wet bathing suits!

I am such a shorts-wearer on vacations. Especially when I’m running around with the kids. I discovered this great UPF clothing line called Claudent (the fabrics protect from 98% of UVA and UVB rays). I have these chic pull-on shorts that I will wear with the button up shirt, and a sporty bikini like this underneath. Also, I am obsessed with packing a good sun hat, and this one from Janessa Leone is great for traveling, and the hat carrier tote is genius - you can slide the hat through the straps to keep it from getting crushed. How amazing are these Row-coded sandals? I don’t go anywhere without my favorite SPF - this stuff was formulated by my dermatologist Dr. David Kim, and it is light and absorbs straight into your skin, keeping it nice and moisturized under your makeup.

I have a few Hunza bikinis and this one is next on my wishlist. I’m loving the chocolate brown, and the delicate twisted straps. These bathing suits are a dream - they are super stretchy and comfortable and come in the best colors. I really love the bold stripes on this easy but chic Left On Friday set. I’ve been wanting to try this SIDIA body cream after falling in love with the hand serum. This leather clutch by COS is perfect for packing inside a beach tote, and to carry out in the evenings. I have these sandals by A.Emery and the padded footbed is truly heavenly.

Always looking for a good dress that can be worn day or night, and be a good base for some fun accessorizing. I love the contrasting textures of this dress, with a fun beaded necklace, a pop of coral (this is my new favorite lipstick and the case is so satisfying to hold). These sunglasses are just exquisite - the shape just feels so special but they are so classic in the black. This Loewe raffia bag is a crossbody, which is always welcome on a vacation, I love being hands-free! A.Emery always comes through with chic and minimal, bare but comfortable sandals, and this cream pair is perfection.

Now that I have my packing list sorted, it’s time to pick a destination… I’m open to any and all ideas!
