The Bag Rotation
Thoughtful bags that balance form, function, and ease
Hello, I’m back from a short break after a restful holiday season. It’s been a while since I covered one of my favorite categories: bags. I spent the past couple of weeks curating an edit of the bags I reach for most — the ones that do a lot of the heavy lifting in my wardrobe. These silhouettes are practical enough for everyday use, but also add a bit of color, texture, or emotion to an outfit.
As always, I seek out pieces that feel timeless and effortless, balancing thoughtful design, quality craftsmanship for the price, and real functionality. I include a range of price points and especially love uncovering exceptional pre-worn finds when possible.

I’m not much of a formal dresser, especially when it comes to accessories. I much prefer something I can carry day to night — because honestly, how often am I going to a black-tie event? There are so many fun options out there now, and it’s nice to experiment with an unexpected color or texture, or something oversized or mini.

I love a dual-purpose item, and this pouch works as a clutch, a crossbody when I need it, and an easy pouch to move between larger bags.

There’s something fun and easy about a little hand-carried bag — it frees you up just enough to carry something cute, always within reach.

I’ve always had a soft spot for haircalf accessories, whether in animal print or a rich, solid color. They’re an easy way to introduce a bold pattern into a look, with plenty of shapes and sizes to choose from depending on how much you need to carry — and whether you’re looking for an everyday bag or something for more special moments.

Suede feels like a true wardrobe staple at this point, and there are so many great options out there right now at different price points. They’re easy, versatile neutrals — and I especially love warm suede tones paired with denim.

I’m always a sucker for stripes — they can feel fresh and clean, or bring in a bit of a retro vibe depending on the color mix. And stripes definitely aren’t just for summer; I love them year-round for the playful touch they add to any look.

Last but not least, here’s an edit of true workhorse totes — bags designed to go anywhere and carry everything you need for the day. This Parker Thatch tote includes a side laptop pocket that fits a 13” laptop, with plenty of room for a 15” in the main compartment. It also features a zippered top to keep everything secure, plus adjustable gussets that snap in or out depending on whether you want a more structured or slouchy shape.
Hope this helps you spot any gaps in your bag rotation.

I wanted an animal print before but now I need it. Love this round-up!
I loveeeee hair calf bags and even owned a YSL one back in the day but I wore it so much that it started to bald on the back. It was devastating!
